TAKE TIME TO DO WHAT MAKES YOUR SOUL HAPPY
On our last morning in Chiang Mai we had breakfast at Cafe Arte where we enjoyed some coffee and banana and peanut butter roti topped with chocolate and almonds (dessert for breakfast!). Then we packed up and headed to the airport to set out for our first beach destination: Railay Beach.

Our friends Matt & Phi were in the middle of a 6 month trip throughout Asia, Africa, and Europe and our itineraries overlapped for one night only (Christmas day!) so we made a point to meet up and exchange travel stories.

Read MoreAllen is definitely a morning person, but the morning we left for Machu Picchu, he woke up early with extra energy. He has wanted to visit Machu Picchu since he was nine years old, so this was pretty much equivalent of Christmas morning for him!
Read MoreAs we flew into Cusco, we knew we were in for another treat. Although the turbulence was some of the worst we’ve ever experienced (which was a little more frightening for the non-aerospace engineer of the group), the green mountain tops and the vast valleys below were breathtaking.
Read MoreThe flight into San Pedro made it clear that the next three days would be full of more breathtaking landscapes. The views on the drive from the airport to our hotel consisted mainly of barren landscapes dotted with the occasional wind farm.
Read MoreBecause of our schedule, we missed the glacier excursion at Ecocamp, which I was pretty bummed about. However, we ended up having the most amazing views out the window of the airplane.
